A Way to Say Thank You to Those Who Serve
Imagine coming home from a deployment, or finishing a long shift at the firehouse, and looking up at a roof that has seen better days. Missing shingles, a slow leak in the attic, or storm damage that never got fixed properly. For many service members, veterans, first responders, and their families, a new roof is one more expense on a long list. The Roofs for Troops program exists to lower that barrier, and The Roofer Direct is proud to take part in it.
Roofs for Troops is a rebate program offered through GAF, North America’s largest and oldest roofing manufacturer. It gives qualifying members of the military and first responder community a rebate on qualifying GAF roofing systems installed by a certified contractor. Because The Roofer Direct is a GAF Master Elite contractor with President’s Club standing, we are able to offer this program to the people who have earned it.
Who Qualifies for the Roofs for Troops Rebate
The program is built to reach the people who serve our communities and our country. Eligibility generally covers a broad group, and we are happy to walk you through the details when you contact us. The rebate is designed to be simple to claim, and we handle the paperwork so you do not have to work through it alone.
Typical qualifying groups include the following:
- Active-duty military: members currently serving in any branch of the United States Armed Forces
- Veterans and retirees: those who have served honorably and are no longer on active duty
- Reserves and National Guard: members serving part-time who remain ready to answer the call
- First responders: firefighters, police officers, and emergency medical personnel who protect the community every day
If you fall into one of these groups, or you are not sure whether you qualify, reach out to The Roofer Direct and we will confirm your eligibility before any work begins. There is no obligation to move forward, and we would rather answer your questions early than have you wonder about the details later.
Why the GAF Credentials Matter Here
The Roofs for Troops rebate is only available through GAF-certified contractors, and not every contractor holds the same level of certification. The Roofer Direct earned the title of GAF Master Elite after an extensive vetting process. This is a recognition you cannot buy, you have to earn it, and only two percent of roofing contractors in North America hold it.
We went further than that. The Roofer Direct also holds GAF President’s Club status, which is the highest level GAF awards. Fewer than half of Master Elite contractors ever qualify for President’s Club. To reach it, a contractor must show excellence in three separate areas:
- Performance: a consistent record of quality installations that meet GAF’s demanding standards
- Reliability: a proven history of standing behind the work and staying accountable to customers
- Service: maintaining strong homeowner satisfaction over time, not just on a single job
To keep our Master Elite status, GAF sends customer surveys directly to the homeowners we work with. We must maintain five-star ratings from those homeowners to keep our standing. That means our reputation is measured by the people we serve, and it keeps us focused on doing the job right the first time.
What the Warranty Means for a Roofs for Troops Roof
The rebate is only part of the value. Because The Roofer Direct is a GAF Master Elite contractor, your new shingles carry a fifty-year non-pro-rated warranty instead of the thirty-year pro-rated warranty you would get if the same shingles were installed by a non-certified company. As a Master Elite contractor we are also able to offer the GAF Silver Pledge warranty, which includes a ten-year labor warranty backed by GAF.
This gives you real peace of mind. If anything ever happened to our company and we were unable to fix a problem, you could contact GAF directly and they would send another Master Elite contractor to make the repair. Very few roofing companies can make that promise, and for a service member who may be relocated or deployed, that kind of long-term protection matters.
The Principles We Bring to Every Roof
We made firm decisions in the beginning that, in order to make our company successful, we would have to do things differently than our competitors. Many companies will bid low and cut corners to be profitable. That is not our philosophy. By eliminating the middleman, we are able to offer higher-quality products and higher-quality installations. Our three guiding principles are:
- Do everything to the best of our ability: we cut no corners and use the best material possible, not the least expensive
- Stand behind our work: in the rare event we make a mistake, we make it right no matter what
- Ask for no money upfront: no material deposits, nothing until each stage of the job is complete and you are satisfied
Generally we consider phase one to be the roof repair or installation, and we collect payment for the roof once it is complete. Additional phases depend on the scope of the agreed contract and could include gutter installation, house siding, painting, windows, and more. This approach removes the risk of the horror stories so many people have heard, where a customer gives a contractor a deposit and never hears from them again.
